Alex McKimmie is a freelance cinematographer from Brisbane, who graduated from QUT with a bachelor’s degree in Film, Screen, and New Media in 2023.

Growing up, Alex would regularly visit the local cinema with his grandfather and listen to on-set stories from his filmmaker grandmother, igniting his passion for the art of filmmaking.

With experience working on music videos, commercials, narrative, media release and social media content, Alex has a sharp focus on crafting emotive imagery through cinematography and lighting. From cars to clothing to giraffes, he has filmed it all. He is eager to work on your next project and enjoys working with like-minded creatives.

Alex is available for hire as a cinematographer, camera assistant and lighting assistant.
